Raffle to Support Local Children

Lydia Street Open House

On Thursday July 31, we hosted an open house to celebrate the completion of 99 Lydia Street. Our partners : Rhode Island Housing, Crossroads RI, Ed Wojcik Architects ltd. and Vasco Inc., proudly presented the house for public viewing a day before before the official move-in for our newest tenants. Many neighborhood residents and housing partners showed up to celebrate this great achievement.

PROVIDENCE - Historic St. Patrick Cemetery on Smith Hill is being restored to its original beauty, thanks to the efforts of a dedicated group of neighborhood residents, AmeriCorps volunteers from the Feinstein Institute at Providence College and workers from the Catholic Cemeteries Office.

YouthRAP Summer Program Begins

YouthRAP has begun its Summer Program here at the CDC.  So far, neighborhood youth have engaged in a restoration project for the mural located on the Smith Hill Post Office building and a clean-up of the garden located behind the Library.  Stay tuned for more updates!

 


Community Clean-Up & Graffiti Removal

Thursday, May 8th, 2008 On Friday April 18th, Smith Hill CDC sponsored a Community Clean-Up and Graffiti Removal.  SHCDC staff and neighborhood volunteers worked to clean graffiti and remove trash from Lydia St., Bernon St., Jewett St. and parts of Bath St. and Douglas Ave.
