Crime Alert – December

0

Last week, someone reportedly walked in through an unlocked door at a building on Holden Street near West Park and robbed an upstairs apartment. Yesterday, someone entered another house (also on Holden) during the daytime and stole jewelry and a camera.

Police state that it is ESSENTIAL that all doors and windows are kept LOCKED and that residents keep eyes and ears open to deter the person or people doing this.  They have targeted at least Jewett and Holden, and the repeated occurrences suggests that the perpetrator(s) spend(s) time in our neighborhood either observing people’s behavior or trying doors. In most of the Jewett Street break-ins, doors were forced or windows were broken. In some cases, entire apartments were cleaned out; in others, the perp(s) targeted high value items.

Please be EXTRA CAREFUL and advise neighbors who are not on this list to be vigilant about locking and keeping eyes open for suspicious behavior. When crimes are committed, please report them to the police and file police reports.
