Smith Hill Goes Green, Free Trees for Neighborhood Residents!
To honor the memory of the late community organizer Thomas Twitchell, his family and a group of friends, are sponsoring a tree planting across the entire neighborhood. As noted below, the initial application has been accepted and expanded to include anyone in Smith Hill. Please help us distribute the news of this great, FREE opportunity to everyone in the neighborhood by forwarding the attached flier! smith-hill-map-tree-planting
GOOD NEWS:
- Our application has already been accepted!
- We don’t need any more money!
- We can have MANY more trees!!
- We have an opportunity to cover Smith Hill in green!
- There are several other tree planting initiatives going on in Providence and we would be a significant part of the big picture! Can you say ‘media attention?’
Attached, please find a flyer for you to fill out and send back, forward onto your friends and family in the community, or just fold up and use as a coaster for your coffee.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
A) people in Smith Hill who would like to plant a tree close by or in front of your home / business in which to adopt as your very own! (The rule of thumb is 5 trees per 3 block radius)
B) people to volunteer for tree planting day - which will be in the Spring of 2009!
C) an excuse to come to Providence for a huge party after a long day of hard work planting and naming our trees!
