The Smith Hill Branch Library is a rich resource for area residents.  Besides offering regular library services, the Smith Hill branch also runs after school activites with neighobrhood partners, houses the only public computer lab in the area and sponsors many family-oriented special events.  The Community Calendar lists many of these activities.  The Library Friend’s Group for the Smith Hill Branch helps raise money and sponsors various activities and is currenlty pushing to increase membership. 

Despite their importance to the well-being of Providence residents, funding to all local branches is in jeopardy.  To learn more about the serious issues that face the Providence Public Library, please see the Library Reform Group’s website.
