Resident Services

Smith Hill Community Development Corporation supports residents with more than just housing.


Through a partnership with Housing Network of Rhode Island and NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley, the Smith Hill CDC hosts AmeriCorps members trained and professionally certified as Resident Services Coordinators. By working with tenants and community members, our RSCs are able to provide resources that help maintain safe, affordable housing. Services include:

  1. Eviction Prevention

  2. Tenant Education

  3. Resource Referrals

One-on-one assistance is provided via appointment and consultations are welcomed on a walk-in basis. To make an appointment, please contact our Resident Services Coordinators as 401-521-0159x2.


Rent RIte

Rent RIte is a FREE three-week class series to help provide education to renters in the State of Rhode Island. If you’ve had trouble renting in the past, are curious about state laws, or want to have information on building credit, this class is for you!


Topics covered include:

  1. Understanding credit

  2. Budgeting and money management skills

  3. Identifying and dealing with housing barriers

  4. Navigating the rental process

  5. Reviewing rental agreements

  6. Understanding Fair Housing
