Going Green

The Camden Avenue Garden provides the Smith Hill neighborhood with access to land and encourages community members to strengthen their gardening skills. Through a variety of programs, the Camden Avenue Garden makes gardening accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. We hope to cultivate growth in the garden, among the people, and around the neighborhood in order to create a greener Smith Hill Community.

In partnership with Providence Parks and Recreation, the Camden Avenue Garden Club was developed to create a safe place for children to come to after school and in the summer moths to engage in garden activities and crafts throughout the year.

Vision:

  1. Provide fun and safe educational spaces for all community members to advance their agricultural skills.

  2. Make healthy food more accessible in Smith Hill.

  3. Witness a community centered on the flourishing of all people, places, and things.

If you’re interested in gardening at the community garden, or participating in monthly neighborhood clean-ups, please contact communityoutreach@smithhillcdc.org.
