What do I need to fill out the housing application?

You must return the signed application along with the following supplemental information:

  1. Signatures of all adult applicants

  2. Copies of social security cards for everyone on application

  3. Copies of birth certificates for everyone on the application

  4. Copies of photo I.D. for everyone 18 and over on the application

  5. Five years of rental history

  6. Proof of income

  7. BCI obtained through Attorney General’s office

I’ve submitted my housing application, what’s next?

Once a housing application with supplemental information has been submitted to the CDC, applications are reviewed and approved accordingly. If requirements are met to become a tenant, applications will be put on our waiting list until the specified apartment becomes available.

Will I be updated on my waitlist status?

If your status is moved, you will be contacted by the Property Manager about your new number. Please make sure to let us know if your contact information on file has changed so that we may reach out to you.

Is this income-based housing?

Yes. Each SHCDC unit is income-based.

Do you accept section 8 vouchers?

Yes, we do. Please contact our office for more information 401-521-0159.

How many bedrooms are in the apartments?

We currently have 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom apartments in Smith Hill and Wanskuck.

If I have a maintenance issue, who do I contact?

You may call the office at 401-521-0159x1 and leave a message if you are a resident of Smith Hill Managed Properties. Evenings, holidays, and weekends are for emergencies only, and tenants may call the emergency line given at move-in.

Do you offer resources besides housing?

Yes, we do! Our Resident Services Coordinator can assist you with financial, education, and career-focused needs. In addition, we offer a yearly Thanksgiving Turkey Drive and Blessing Bag distribution to provide food and resources for those that need it. I am looking to increase my credit score so that I can purchase a home. Who can I speak to?

Our Resident Services Coordinator can assist with financial help, including credit score questions. To make an appointment, please call our RSC at 401-521-0159x2.
